During a series of high-level meetings in Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa, Dubai Chambers explored ways to enhance trade and investment cooperation with several South African economic entities, institutions, and companies. This collaboration aims to support the growth of economic partnerships and open new horizons for the business communities of both Dubai and South Africa.
With the participation of Salem Al Shamsi, Executive Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, the Chambers held meetings with the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry, including its President, Mtho Zulu, as well as representatives from the South African Department of Trade, Industry and Competition, and the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The discussions focused on strengthening the role of the private sector in supporting intra-regional trade growth, mechanisms for empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and opportunities for South African companies to expand into Dubai and capitalize on its position as a global trade and business hub.
The Chambers also participated in a business forum organized by WESGROU, the Cape Town and Western Cape Tourism, Trade and Investment Promotion Authority, and another business forum organized by the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The meetings were held on the sidelines of a trade mission organized by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce to South Africa, as part of its efforts to support the expansion of Dubai-based companies into South African markets by exploring cooperation prospects with local partners and investigating new areas of growth in all sectors.
